Tutoring

DC Scholars assesses each child to understand their individual strengths and learning needs. Scholars identified as needing additional academic support are scheduled into math, reading, and writing interventions.

In addition, students who may need additional support are offered spaces in our tutoring programs, including:  

• Teach for America Ignite virtual reading tutoring,  
• Reading Assist one-on-one in-person tutoring, and 
• After school tutoring with DC Scholars teachers. 

Research shows that high-dosage, small group tutoring can accelerate student learning.
